John's Forest - Third-Party Assessment

We have chosen to underestimate the carbon storage of John's Forests by taking the assessment total and converting only 90 percent of the assessed amount into Carbon Plus Credits. As the graph below shows, John's forest has been assessed by a third party firm to store 1774 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq) over the course of its management period. However, we will only be selling 1597 Carbon Plus Credits from John's forest, or 90 percent of the 1774 tonnes it has been assessed to store. This is consistent with many offset standards and regulations and is designed to limit the possibility of selling more Carbon Plus Credits than we actually produce. It is also another way we hope to assure Our Offsetters that we are continually striving to provide a sound way to make a positive impact on our environment.
